Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal
in association with Surathkal Sports Academy, Surathkal conducted Volleyball,
Throwball and Cricket Summer Coaching Camp 2018. The Coaching Camp was inaugurated on Tuesday, 10th
April 2018 at the College premises. Sri Gowtham Shetty,
Physical Director, DPS, MRPL inaugurated
the event.
“One has to show keen interest in
sports, Systematic and continuous practice helps a person to become good sports person. Interest in sports should
not be limited to sports campus. It has to be constant.
You can shape your good shape, good personality and it culminates healthy lifestyle” appealed Sri Gowtham Shetty, the
President of Torpedo Sports Club, Haleangadi and
winner of Dakshina Kannada District Level Rajyotsava
Award 2017. Mr. Pundalik Hosabettu, National Sports Person said, “With the help of institutional support we can
encourage sports personalities like Mamatha Poojari and more can emerge with constant
support”.

the chief guests.
Dr
B. Muralidhar Rao, Principal, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal presided over the
function. Edwin Charles, President of
Surathkal Sports Academy, Mr Harish Kumar, Physical Director of GDC and Mr Udaya Kumar, Physical Director of MDS
Pre-University College coordinated the programme. It is a matter of great
satisfaction that in Cricket, 60 boys and five girls, in Volleyball 55 boys and
20 girls, in Throw Ball 30 girls were undergoing the coaching. The coaching was
given by the President of Surathkal Sports Academy Ewin Charles, Sandeep
Kadambodi, Surendra Kadambodi, Sadhik Kulai, Rakesh Hosabettu were the trainers
in Cricket, Vinod Kumar Sasihithlu, Udaya Kumar Chelyaru, Nizamuddin, Jamuna
Singh, Nandan in VolleyBall, Sujith Saliyan and Venugopal trained the
participants in Throwball. The training will continue for a month.
